I'm not sure I said I'd post a follow-up when I beat Metal Gear Solid 4, but I am writing this anyways.

Saturday. I woke up around... 2 PM. Nicole was at work. I turned the TV on and started playing Metal Gear Solid 4. Her brother and a friend of his were watching me play. It lasted about ... 5 hours. The final act, that is.

It ended. The game ended. I will spare details of boss fights and simply say that both boss fights in the last act are without a shadow of a doubt the most amazing boss battles ever. EVER.

... I can't even formulate it into words. I'll say the least of what I can think to say.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is the best PS3 game. It's the best game released this year. It's the best game released in the past 10 years. Metal Gear Solid is the best series the PlayStation has ever seen. This game is my favorite game. Of all time. Ever. It has turned me into a die-hard fan and I never want to go back. This game. Is. Incredible. Buy it. Get it. I don't care if you can't, if you're crippled, if you're broke or you're all of the above. Get it. It's worth it's price tag. It's worth paying 400$ for a PS3. It's worth everything you can invest into it.

This game represents what videogames need to be. They need to be experiences. Not just something you play through and think "Wow, that was neat.". Nono. It needs to be more than that, and that's what Metal Gear Solid 4 is. It's the peak of interactive entertainment and it's set the bar for anything else that wants to attempt to achieve what it has. I can guarantee you that not much will, if anything at all.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is the best game ever made and until you play it, beat it and understand it, you can never reply to this journal with a contradictory statement. Don't even try to persuade. It won't work.
